Snoop Dogg Thanks David Stern for Vetoed Chris Paul Trade

Before the beginning of the shortened NBA season last year, the Los Angeles Lakers attempted to pull off a blockbuster trade to acquire superstar point guard Chris Paul. The three-team deal would’ve sent Pau Gasol to the Houston Rockets and Lamar Odom to the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for Paul, but NBA Commissioner David Stern pulled the plug on the trade before it became official.

The vetoed trade left Gasol and Odom feeling expendable and ultimately resulted in endless trade rumors surrounding the Spaniard and the reigning Sixth Man of the Year forcing his way to the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks.

Fortunately, missing out on Paul may have turned out to be a blessing in a disguise with the Lakers bringing in Steve Nash and Dwight Howard via trade eight months later. The two superstar acquisitions vastly improved the roster and has potentially created another dynasty in Los Angeles.

As an avid Lakers fan and countless other NBA and NFL teams, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg a.k.a. Snoop Lion thanked Stern for vetoing the Paul trade and believes the Lakers will be the team to beat in the NBA next season as a result of bringing in Nash and Howard.
