Despite reeling in the best free-agent crop in NBA history, the Miami Heat have been struggling to pick up wins through their first 14 games. As a result, questions about their direction and cohesiveness as a unit have arisen. Earlier this week, Lakers’ Head Coach Phil Jackson brought up the point that if things don’t turn around, the Heat could send their head coach, Erik Spoelstra, packing, in favor of the championship-winning Pat Riley. Jackson also referenced the team’s decision to do this in recent years – or as he refers to it, “the Van Gundy thing.”
Recently, now-Orlando head coach, Stan Van Gundy, fires back at Phil’s comments, calling the Zen Master “ignorant.”. In an interview yesterday, Heat guard Dwyane Wade offered his sentiments on Phil’s comments as well.
