Over the weekend, Steve Nash recently announced his retirement after spending nearly 20 years playing in the NBA. The two-time MVP admirably ended his career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. At his retirement press conference, Nash talked about numerous topics including Jordan Clarkson.

During the press conference, the former Lakers point guard said he enjoyed working with the young prospects and praised Clarkson according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

While Clarkson did not play much to start the season, injuries depleted the backcourt and gave the second-round pick an opportunity to play major minutes. Although Nash was away from the team, Clarkson has recently worked with the future Hall of Famer and has notably shown improvement.

With the team out of playoff contention and only a handful of games remaining in the season, the Lakers need to focus on evaluating their young prospects and players they are interested in re-signing. Despite Nash’s official retirement, hopefully he will remain a mentor to Clarkson and the other young prospects.
