As for the other Lakers, Dwight Howard is in second place in the front court category with 716,671 votes while Pau Gasol has 239,440 votes and Metta World Peace has a total of 106,025 tallies. Bryant’s backcourt partner Steve Nash will likely not be voted an All-Star starter as his 202,274 votes put him well behind the leaders.
Kobe Bryant has been named an All-Star 14 times, but he was quite surprised to learn that he is the leading vote getter for the upcoming game. Bryant spoke to the Los Angeles Times and talked about the latest ballot returns.
“Oh, really? Damn,” Bryant said. “I guess people want to see an old dog.”
The All-Star game is not complete without Kobe Bryant, and he is constantly one of the main players in the match. Fans want to see Kobe play and he is certainly one of the most entertaining players we have in the league today.
This season, the 34-year-old Bryant is leading the NBA in scoring with 30.3 points per game and it is clear that he still has a lot of basketball left in him.
