Tim Duncan Doubtful For Tonight’s Game With Chest Contusion

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles LakersThe Los Angeles Lakers return to Staples Center tonight for a much anticipated game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs swept the Lakers in the opening round of the 2013 Playoffs and the veteran team is looking to once again make a run for the Finals.

However, ESPN reports that the Spurs’ Tim Duncan is doubtful for tonight’s game due to a chest contusion. Duncan suffered the injury during San Antonio’s season opener on Wednesday against the Grizzlies.

Duncan, injured in Wednesday’s season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies after taking an inadvertent elbow in the third quarter, underwent a CT scan Thursday morning in San Antonio that confirmed the chest contusion.

After a surprising opening day victory against the Clippers, the Lakers were dominated by 31 points the next night in Oakland. The Lakers struggled on both ends of the court against the Warriors, and if they cannot fix their problems now, the Spurs will breeze to a victory.
