Just a couple of days ago Lamar Odom became the first Laker player in history to ever win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. He deserved it by averaging 14.4 points per game and 8.7 rebounds. Odom gave up more money and more playing time and decided to stay with the Lakers to contribute to yet another NBA title. It is great to see the impact that Odom has had coming off the bench, but what is more impressive is his team first mentality and his ability to be so unselfish for the better of the team. To have the luxury of having a player of Odom’s caliber on the bench as the sixth man is a blessing for the Lakers. With all that said, this week we will take a look at Lamar Odom’s best performances of the year.

Lamar Odom would face his hometown team at Staples Center and contributed greatly to stomp the New York Knicks 109-87. Odom would have a double double for the night with an astounding 18 rebounds and 13 points. That would be his second highest rebound output of the season.

The Lakers second game of the season and first road game of the year was played in Phoenix as the Suns hosted the Lakers. The Lakers would go on to win the game with a strong performance from Lamar Odom. Odom contributed with yet another double double, this time he grabbed 17 boards and 18 points.

Coming in at number three the Lakers were visiting Kobe’s hometown as they faced the 76ers. The Lakers would pull off the victory 93-81 and Lamar Odom would score a game high 28 points and 8 rebounds. He would lead all scorers by a large margin as the next highest output was 19 by Pau Gasol.

The Lakers were hosting the Houston Rockets and Lamar Odom had an amazing game to lead the Lakers to a great victory at home. The game would into overtime where the Lakers would win 114-106. Kobe had 32, but Odom was much more impressive with 20 points of his own and also 20 rebounds. Odom officially became a member of the 20/20 club.

Seems like Lamar Odom likes playing against the Phoenix Suns because at Number One on this list features the Phoenix Suns visiting the Lakers that turned out to be one of the better games of the season. The game would go into triple overtime, and the Lakers would prevail 139-137. Lamar Odom had a monster game with 29 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.
