There was some speculation that the Lakers might be looking at Tracy McGrady as a potential replacement for soon-to-be free agent Shannon Brown. It was thought that the Lakers could use McGrady as a backup shooting guard for Kobe Bryant.

Now it appears as if that scenario is no longer possible. ESPN is reporting that McGrady has agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Hawks. Stephen A. Smith has claimed that his sources tell him that it is a 1-year deal that is for the veteran’s minimum.

McGrady played in 72 games last season for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 8.0 points and 23.4 minutes per game.
