As many of you know teams officially were able to open their gyms to the players today after having the doors locked since the lockout began back on July 1.

Up in Portland the Trail Blazers opened their team facilities and only saw one player show up to use them. What makes this news is that the player that showed up to use the facilities doesn’t play for the Blazers.

Los Angeles Lakers reserve guard Steve Blake, a former member of the Trail Blazers, reportedly took advantage of the team facilities in Portland today.

According to Joe Freeman of The Oregonian, Blake arrived at the Trail Blazers practice facility in Tualatin to get in some work.

“If it’s available, I’m going to be in here. It’s a great facility, obviously, a great floor. I’m just (looking) to get back in the NBA rhythm.”

This should come as a sign of encouragement for the Lakers and their fans to see their players utilizing other team’s facilities to make sure they’re ready when the season finally tips off later this month.
