via ProBasketballTalk.com – Kobe Bryant Injures Ankle, May Not Play Monday vs. Magic

Via ESPN – “I thought I was done, like done ………..I’ll just do what I always do: don’t sleep, get treatment around the clock and I should be fine,” Bryant said.

According to Lakers’ beat reporter Kevin Ding Kobe Bryant appeared okay heading to the team bus after tonight’s 96-91 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Bryant stated that the ankle injury was the worst he’s ever experienced, and that he initially thought he may have even broken it. However, after leaving the game late in the third quarter he was back on the bench at the start of the fourth for the Lakers.

The next game on the schedule for the Lakers is Monday night when they will host the Orlando Magic. Bryant’s status for that game is still up in the air, but Ding believes Bryant will play.

The ankle is currently heavily taped as Bryant will fly back to Los Angeles with his Lakers teammates tonight, and will probably have to endure more swelling. However, Bryant stated that despise the ‘baseball’ size bruise, the ‘strength (of the ankle) is pretty good.’
