Before the 2011-12 NBA season got underway on Christmas Day, reports surfaced of Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, filling for divorce. This news shocked many, including Pau Gasol, with the consensus being that Kobe had learned his lesson from the 2003 rape scandal in Colorado that seriously threatened his marriage and basketball career.
After Mrs. Bryant filed for divorce, Kobe’s infidelities started to circulate around the web like wildfire. The Los Angeles Lakers star was reportedly being extremely unfaithful over the past decade and Vanessa no longer wanted to deal with it.
Once last season ended for the Lakers, Kobe and Vanessa appeared to be moving towards reconciliation. Both sides appeared to be ready to end the divorce in an effort to try to make things work for the sake of their two children.
Unfortunately, the reconciliation may have taken a turn for the worst recently with pictures of a shirtless Kobe being taken in Barcelona, Spain last week at a party with two women on both sides of him.
According to TMZ.com, Vanessa is furious over the pictures of Kobe without a shirt and surrounded by women:
“Sources close to Vanessa Bryant tell us she is “furious” and “embarrassed” over the photos — one of Kobe chatting up 2 women at an afterparty last week in Barcelona … the other showed him hanging with 2 different women in a nightclub.”
With everything that Vanessa has gone through over the past decade and recently filing for divorce, it comes as no surprise that she’d be angered by these pictures being released on the web. Although there is no evidence of infidelity in these pictures that are now circulating around the internet, it has definitely raised some eyebrows with Kobe while he is working on repairing his relationship with his wife.
Reportedly, the reason Kobe is shirtless in these pictures is due to a drink being spilled on the shirt he was wearing.
Apparently, Vanessa isn’t worried about Kobe cheating on her while overseas, but rather the fact that he’d let pictures be taken of him in this situation. This makes perfect sense considering that she’s the one that stands to be embarrassed by them.
It remains to be seen what the fallout of these pictures will be, but Mrs. Bryant has flown to London, England with their two children over the past weekend to be with Kobe. These pictures surfacing didn’t prevent her from making the trip.
