Lakers Nation was out at the Nike 3On3 Slam Dunk Contest at L.A. Live this summer, watching Werm take the thrown as the 2013 Slam Dunk Contest champ! Werm was competing against last year’s champ, Jusfly, and Young Hollywood, who couldn’t finish a dunk over 7-footer Ryan Hollins.
Lakers player development coach Mark Madsen, former NFL player and current ESPN host Marcellus Wiley, former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens and Clippers center Ryan Hollins were a part of this year’s judging panel.
Werm’s been showing his talent this year, winning the BET Sprite Dunk Experience in June and the Washington DC Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown. Werm, though, says he does it for the kids.
“It’s for the kids really. It’s a hobby. It’s part of basketball, it’s fun. I just love to see the kids do it and that’s what keeps me going.
