VIDEO: Ed Davis, ‘We Don’t Have A Confidence Problem’

The Los Angeles Lakers lost a close one to the Memphis Grizzles, arguably one of the best teams in the NBA, dropping their record to just 3-12 Wednesday night. Ultimately, it was the Lakers major lapses in the third quarter, that allowed the Grizzlies to come away with the victory.

Playing against his former team, Lakers forward Ed Davis racked up an impressive three blocks and eight rebounds to go along with his lone bucket in 23 minutes. Earlier this month, Davis admitted that he definitely has some extra motivation going up against Memphis, a team he felt like “gave up on [him]” to an extent.

After the game, Davis was asked whether the Lakers being competitive against such a high caliber team was a step in the right direction, but Davis saw that as an assumption that the Lakers lacked confidence in themselves, which he says surely is not the case.

We don’t have a confidence problem at all. We can beat any team on any given night.”

In our video above, Jeremy Lin and Ed Davis also both agree that in the first half, the Lakers played some of the best basketball they’ve played this season. Additionally, Lin goes into detail about the lessons he plans to take away from Wednesday’s loss.

Davis and the Lakers will have a chance to prove that confidence Friday night as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center.
