VIDEO: Elgin Baylor Says ‘Justice Has Been Served’ On Donald Sterling

It has been over a week since NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced the lifetime ban of Donald Sterling and the league’s intention to force the sale of the Los Angeles Clippers. The TMZ recordings were not Sterling’s first racist actions. Nevertheless, the commissioner came down on Sterling while receiving universal praise for his handling of the situation.

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, former Clippers general manager Elgin Baylor shares his approval of Silver’s punishment:

Justice has been served. Look at it that way. They know what Donald is like. The things I said before about Donald are absolutely true.

During his 22-year tenure as general manager, the Clippers mainly struggled. Despite winning Executive of the Year in 2006, Baylor decided to move on from his front office position in 2008. The following year, Baylor filed a lawsuit against Sterling accusing the Clippers owner for discriminatory practices during his time working under Sterling which he ended up losing.

As it stands, the NBA owners still haven’t officially voted on the forced sale of the Clippers. From his own experience with Sterling, Baylor expects him to fight the NBA’s decision with a lawsuit of his own via CNN:

Donald likes the limelight, whether it’s good or bad. That’s just the type if guy he is.

One thing that is certain is that the Sterling situation is far from over. The Clippers are looking to move past this whole fiasco. Team president Andy Roeser took an indefinite leave of absence Wednesday making things a bit more complicated.

The Clippers are currently tied 1-1 with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Semifinals and are doing everything they can to keep the distractions away.
