VIDEO: Former Lakers, NBA Stars And More At Sports Spectacular 2013

For 28 years now, Sports Spectacular has hosted an impressive gala to honor and celebrate some of the greatest names in sports entertainment while benefiting a great cause. This year’s event benefited the groundbreaking work of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and their breakthroughs in genetic research.

Athletes and celebrities flew in from all over the country as Hope Solo, Jason Collins, Chris Paul and Colin Kaepernick were all honored this year.

There was also a special tribute to Dr. Jerry Buss, which was presented by Jerry West with an accompanying acceptance speech by Dr. Buss’ son, Johnny Buss. Kobe Bryant also announced (via video message) that he will team up with Sports Spectacular to eradicate homelessness.

Former Lakers, including Elgin Baylor, Michael Cooper and John Salley (who hosted the event alongside Jim Hill and Kevin Frazier), were all in attendance. LakersNation.com caught up with plenty of current and former athletes on the red carpet, including John Salley, Warren Moon, Larry Fitzgerald, Hope Solo, Michael Cooper, Kris Humphries, Corey Brewer and even DeAndre Jordan.
