VIDEO: Jeremy Lin Jokes About Nick Young’s Swaggy P Nickname

There’s one Laker who isn’t calling Nick Young, Swaggy P. Young’s becomes quite comfortable with his nickname, which he often uses when referring to himself in the third person. He’s even been having a good time with the rookies this season, supposedly asking Jordan Clarkson to refer to him as ‘Daddy Swag’ and ‘Uncle Swag.’ Even Kobe Bryant along with teammates and coaches have gotten used to calling Young by his nickname.

Not Jeremy Lin.

With a smile on his face, Lin corrected a reporter when he called Nick Young by his nickname, Swaggy.

“He’s super cool, but I just find it ridiculous that everyone comes in and calls him Swaggy! You gotta earn it or something!”

When probed further about what would justify calling Young by his nickname:

“I guess it just has to be something that I see that when I look at him…He just glows with swagginess, but I’m not there yet.”

Lin also clarified that he hasn’t been around long yet to see ‘the swag,’ and also said he could adopt using the moniker eventually.

Young, who injured his thumb in yesterday’s practice, wasn’t around to comment on Lin’s refusal to call him Swaggy, but you can bet reporters will be joking around with him about it as soon as he becomes available.
