VIDEO: Jeremy Lin Talks Strengths After First Lakers Game

Jeremy Lin played 27 minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers 98-95 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, the Lakers first preseason game of 2014. Lin had a rough shooting night (0-6), but excelled facilitating the offense and getting the ball down in the post, racking up 10 assists and committing just one turnover.

After the game, Lin says he needs to do a better job of finishing and discusses what he hopes to capitalize on in training camp.

“I just want to figure out how I can bring my strengths and apply it best to this system. It’s kind of like a chess match in learning and figuring it out. I think I’m more prepared for it just having gone through my time in Houston, and playing off the ball and learning different ways to try to be effective.”

Byron Scott commended Lin post-game for his ability to orchestrate the offense and Steve Nash said he believes Lin has the ability to have a great year. Nash pointed to Lin’s decision making ability, especially in pick and rolls and transition. Check it out in our post-game video above. For Kobe Bryant’s post-game reaction, see below.
