Kobe Bryant addressed the media on Tuesday, the day after he signed a $48.5 million, two-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was in such good spirits that he thought he’d take a couple fun jabs during his press conference, which aired on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. First up, Bryant just couldn’t help but take another moment to mock ESPN for ranking him the 25th best player in the NBA. Next, Bryant made a sly remark in reference to David Stern and the NBA vetoing the trade that would have sent Chris Paul to the Lakers in 2011.
I think it’s lucky for me and the Lakers organization that this smart decision that they made business wise can’t be revoked by the NBA.”
Bryant had a smile on his face, but he had the media in an uproar of laughter. Is Bryant still upset about the ranking? Is he still bitter about what happened in 2011? You tell us by checking out our video above and don’t forget to subscribe to our Lakers Nation YouTube Channel.
