Video: Kobe Bryant Makes First Comments Since Signing Extension

Prior to the start of the Los Angeles Lakers three-game road trip against the Washington Wizards, guard Kobe Bryant made his first public comments since signing his two-year, $48.5 million extension yesterday morning.

Bryant, 35, is currently recovering from Achilles surgery and his return to the Lakers lineup is more “weeks” then “days” away from happening. The 15-time All-Star looked to be in a good mood as he discussed the evolution of the contract and how he’d “run through a wall” for the Lakers organization after their display of loyalty.

The extension will take Bryant to his 20th season in the NBA and admitted that this will “probably” be the last contract he signed. Asked about a possible return date, Bryant referred to the three days after the Lakers road trip before their December 6 game against the Sacramento Kings as being important days in his recovery.

On with Time Warner Cable SportsNet, here’s Bryant’s entire interview regarding his contract, injury and taking shots at ESPN:
