VIDEO: Kobe Bryant Says He Will Be A Laker For Life

kobeinterview2On Wednesday night, Time Warner Cable SportsNet aired the first interview of their “Connected With…” series. The first segment of the series features Kevin Fraizer interviewing Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

In Kobe’s discussion with Frazier, he discusses a multitude of issues ranging from  his future as a Laker, his injury recovery, being ranked the 25th best player in the league, his plans after basketball, and his Twitter avatar.

A recent topic of concern for Laker fans in regards to Kobe has been his future, and whether or not the Lakers are making it a priority of theirs to bring him back at all costs. After recent rumors of the Lakers deciding to let The Black Mamba enter free agency at the end of this season, Lakers executive Jim Buss set the record straight and let it be known that the front office plans to sign an extension with Kobe during the 2013-2014 season, and have begun the negotiation process.

In Kobe’s sit down, he addressed the situation himself and assured Laker fans that he is here to stay no matter what the tabloids say.

“I was born a Laker, so I look forward to dying one,” Bryant said.

The length of Kobe’s next contract is yet to be determined, but Bryant knows that his next deal will certainly be his last, as he initially expected this season to be his final campaign prior to ending last season with a ruptured Achilles.

As far as this season goes, Kobe is still in the midst of rehabbing. There still is no return date,  but word has it that Christmas Day is looking more and more like a realistic possibility. Check out the video below.
