After being dealt back-to-back losses for the first time this season, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors find themselves only one loss away from the end of their season. The Warriors will have to overcome major odds to make it through this series, and in doing so, would be one of the very few teams to win a series after trailing 3-1.

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has always been one for defying odds and making history, which the Warriors are attempting to do. They won 73 games in the regular season, setting a new NBA record, but failing to win the NBA Championship would ruin that accomplishment.

Kobe recognizes the odds are now long for the Warriors to make the history they are seeking, and after the Warriors’ Game 4 loss, Kobe sent a text to Green that read ‘If making history was easy, why bother?’ via Uninterrupted.

As you can see in the video, Green agrees wholeheartedly with Kobe’s statement. Nothing is ever easy in the NBA, even for a team like the Warriors who seemed unbeatable going into the playoffs. Green believes that the Warriors can overcome their odds, and if he takes Kobe’s mindset, they very well might have a shot.

While Kobe has never made a 3-1 comeback, he did have a huge comeback in the 2010 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. The Lakers trailed 3-2 and had to win both of the final two games to bring the Lakers another championship. While it’s not quite the same, the pressure was surely similar.

It is great to see that Kobe is still keeping up with the game right now and trying to push his peers to do great things against seemingly insurmountable odds.
