It was no ordinary Friday night at Staples Center for the Los Angeles Lakers. The purple and gold shared their center stage with Lakers legend Jamaal Wilkes, who had his jersey retirement ceremony at halftime. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Magic Johnson were just a few of the big names in attendance. With such an astute audience, it was a good thing the Lakers blew out the Portland Trail Blazers 104-87.

Mike D’Antoni explains his reasoning for not playing Antawn Jamison, plus talks about greater defensive focus, Darius Morris, and his philosophy that the ball will find energy. D’Antoni clarifies that not playing Jamison in the fourth quarter had more to do with respect than anything else.
