VIDEO: Nick Young ‘Most Definitely’ Open To Being A Starter

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Brooklyn Nets 114-105 Friday night, dropping to a record of 13-41. At Lakers practice this week, Byron Scott said he expected to change the starting lineup over the next few games and might consider moving Nick Young from the second unit to the starting five. Young, who’s been struggling to knock down shots, played 24 minutes and made just two of his nine field goal attempts on Friday.

When asked about whether he would like to be in the starting five, Young responded positively.

Anything, we need to change it up a bit. I think that would probably be a good look,” Young said before expressing his support. “Most definitely, I need to try something, for real.”

Scott was not overly impressed with Young’s performance Friday night, but also acknowledged that he knows Young is trying and that’s really all he can do. Young preferred not to answer questions about why his shooting has been so off lately, clearly attempting to take some of the focus off of his shooting slump.

The Lakers take on their rival, the Boston Celtics on Sunday night, with 28 games left in the season.
