VIDEO: Steve Blake’s Game Winner Over Dwight Howard

The Lakers matchup against the Houston Rockets in early November provided perhaps the best moment of the 2013-2014 season thus far.

The Los Angeles Lakers were fresh off an embarrassing loss to the Dallas Mavericks the night before, but there was added motivation when they made the trip to Houston, as it would be the first game against Dwight Howard.

Without Kobe Bryant and a totally revamped roster, the matchup was not expected to be intense. However, after Howard spurned the Lakers over the summer, this team felt that it was only right to show Howard what he missed out on in leaving the Lakers franchise.

After leading by double digits for the majority of the game, the Lakers saw their lead disappear in the second half and fourth quarter as the Rockets came back and went ahead by six. However, they would fight back and ultimately give themselves a chance to win the game on the final possession.
