Before being taken with the 12th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies or becoming a promising young prospect in Kansas, Xavier Henry was a young basketball player looking for guidance in hopes of sharpening his skills on the floor.
In 2009, Henry attended Kobe Bryant’s Skills Academy in an attempt to take his game to the next level. Henry had no idea that in the near future Bryant would be his teammate in Los Angeles.
Although Henry’s future with the Lakers and in the NBA is uncertain to say the least at this point, the former Jayhawk has made an impression while with the Lakers this season. Henry is averaging 10.1 points per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor in 31 games with the team.
Check out Henry soaking in the knowledge at Kobe’s Academy at the 22-second mark and once again 1:49.
