It has been about a month and a half since the Los Angeles Lakers selected Kentucky’s Julius Randle with the seventh pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The rookie will have his work cut out for him to earn a starting role with the Lakers after the addition of veteran Carlos Boozer, but he’s up for the challenge.
Over the weekend, Randle participated in the photoshoot with the 2014 class of NBA rookies. Randle met up with former Kentucky teammate James Young. Randle and Young and put on a little show with some dance moves while sporting their Lakers and Boston Celtics jerseys.
Randle is already starting to get comfortable in his new surroundings with the 2014-15 NBA season a few months away. Here’s a picture courtesy of SportsCenter’s twitter account of Randle wearing purple and gold:

With Boozer likely becoming the starting power forward heading into next season, Randle could be the first option off the bench for head coach Byron Scott. Although Boozer isn’t the player he once was, Randle will still have an uphill battle ahead to with a proven veteran potentially ahead of him on the depth chart.
