The Washington Post reports that Beal is doubtful for the game on Friday as he is dealing with a sore left ankle. Beal injured the ankle in the Wizards’ game against the Suns and the team is not taking any risks with its promising young guard.

The Wizards’ back court took another hit on Wednesday when rookie Bradley Beal crashed on his already-sore left ankle in the fourth quarter of an 88-79 win over the Phoenix Suns. Beal walked out of U.S. Airways Center with the assistance of a protective boot and is doubtful for Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Washington is once again a lottery bound team and it is continuing its rebuilding process. Even with Beal in the lineup, the Wizards would have had a hard time beating the Lakers.

Los Angeles has played very well as of late and are currently the eight seed in the Western Conference. Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant are expected to return from injury Friday night, making life even tougher for the Wizards.
